Town Administrator participates in

Government Officials Day at NH Fire Academy

On Saturday Oct. 3, thirty local and state government officials (Town Administrators, Selectmen, Commissioners and NH House Representatives) spent the day learning about the fire service in the First Annual NH Government Officials Day.   With the collaboration of private industry, the NH Dept. of Safety, and local fire chiefs, appointed and elected officials had an opportunity to learn about many different aspects of the fire service.  They witnessed several different demonstrations including; auto extrication, the benefits of sprinkler systems, a hazardous material incident, and the capabilities of the NH Forest Fire Service.  They also were able to use portable fire extinguishers to put out small fire and before completing the day given an opportunity to don full protective clothing and breathing apparatus to experience a live fire in the

NHFA's burn building which also included a demonstration on thermal imaging cameras.
